Rapid test for early diagnosis of bladder cancer has been developed

Under the leadership of an employee of the Department of Chemistry of Natural Compounds, Faculty of Chemistry, Moscow State University and the International Agency for Research on Cancer, a team of scientists from France, Bangladesh, Brazil, Italy, Portugal and Russia announced the development of a new PCR assay for detecting bladder cancer. The work was published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences and noted by the International Society of Clinical Urology.

The new method makes it possible to quickly and reliably determine the presence of bladder cancer markers in urine. The development is a simple diagnostic urine analysis and differs from the standard diagnostic method in its high sensitivity and non-invasiveness. The test can be used to monitor the progress and recurrence of bladder cancer, and even detect its presence before clinical symptoms appear.
